In the Modus Communicate app, we have a Streaming feature for media. It allows the Admin to select if they would like media available for streaming only (only viewable when connected to a network). All content that is uploaded is defaulted to be available offline, which means that all content is downloaded to the device (and not streamed).
To manage Streaming:
Choose the group then category with the content that you would like to mark as streaming. Select your media by clicking the "edit" button.
Once inside the content, scroll down and click on the green plus sign in the Advanced Settings bar.
Users will see that the "Allow Offline availability" toggle is turned on (blue) by default. This means that the media is downloadable to the mobile device and can be used off-line:
If the Media Manager account administrator would like the content to only be available when an app user is connected to a network (non-downloadable), slide the toggle to turn off (gray). Scroll down and tap the "save" button when you are done:
When the user clicks "save" and returns to the content page, he or she will see an icon that shows that the media is only available for streaming, or while the user is connected to a network:
Please note that any content marked as "Online Only" will be prohibited from being downloaded to the app itself.
