I wanted to provide feedback on the Commenting feature associated with the Micro-sites. First off, we love the microsite idea. The follow-up feature is an amazing way of engaging clients and staff and now, with the Microsite feature, everything is professionally presented and managed in one place. We love it. We do want to make a suggestion that may seem a bit odd to some but hear us out. The suggestion is, at a minimum, allow comments to be deleted by the person who initiated the microsite (Follow- up) and at a maximum, allow the company who is using the Modus App to decide if they want the comment feature to be the default or if they wish for it to be impossible to leave comments (i.e. have the comment section unavailable/.not present - toggled off).
So now is the time to hear me out….thanks in advance by the way…..we send a follow-up with some links to three clients and they open a link to find the microsite and explore the content. Then they each send the email to their superiors or maybe to some peers or others. In turn they send copies of the thread and so on. Yes, we know who is opening up the emails because of the new and amazing feature of email tracking (asking those that want to see the Microsite to enter their email) BUT we cannot stop them from commenting. So, what happens when there is negative commenting, misleading commenting, inappropriate commenting ? We are concerned that we could see things like this happen and lose the integrity behind the purpose of sharing content. In other words, the message now changes to a different one that is no longer under our control. Well that is a really wild example of why we would like to have some control of the commenting BUT what if an organization who is using Modus App simply prefers to engage clients in a more personal way than have them leave comments on a Microsite. At our company we would prefer that the client or prospect or staff provide comments to the original email rather than to the Microsite. In this way, everyone on the email sees the comments right away rather than the person originating the email who gets a message from Modus when a comment has been left. The others who were given links to the Microsite ONLY see the comments there when they visit it…rather than allow the email string or internal discussion forum (Teams etc) capture the comments.
We are asking for Modus to either allow comments to be deleted and even to go as far as to just let each Owner of the APP decide if they want Microsites to have the comment feature or not (toggled on or off). And lastly, we do not want to have to go back to a previous Version of the APP to have the comments section removed as we truly see benefit in the Microsite concept of capturing emails of who visits the links.
